ABOUT DIXON FARMS WHITETAILS
Dixon Farms Whitetails is a family owned hunting/farming operation located in west-central Illinois, just a few miles west of Macomb. Our 3000+ acres are located in McDonough and Hancock counties, which have produced some of the largest trophy bucks in the state and continue to do so annually. With a variety of agricultural fields, timbers, creek-bottoms, food plots, CRP, etc., our properties are home to giant whitetails and offer some of the finest deer hunting around!

Deer were introduced in our area in the 1960s. And, in 1969, George Dixon killed his first deer, a whopping spike buck! Since then, we’ve observed our deer herd’s steady development. And due to the rich black soil, bountiful crops and great genetics, the deer not only grew in numbers, but in body and antler size! We’ve gone from the day of the spike buck to celebrating the harvest of many 150- to 200+-inch trophies!

Matt Dixon is the primary guide that takes care of hunters and makes sure that the timbers are scouted and ready when the hunters arrive. Anyone can take a hunter to the woods, but few people understand deer and their patterns as well as he does. And when it comes to trailing a wounded deer, Matt is among the very best! These traits only come with years of experience in the woods and the trophy mounts he has to show for it! Other experienced guides assist our guests under Matt’s direction as well.

We look forward to hearing from you soon. — George & Matt
